Australia - My First Home
Introduction
I was born in Scotland but my family moved to Australia when I was a year old and I grew up at 108 O'Connor Street in Haberfield, a suburb of Sydney. It's been over forty years and I still get homesick for it as there hasn't been anything I've seen that's as beautiful or anywhere I've been where the people are as friendly. Perhaps my memory is simply that of a child who didn't know any better but I don't believe that and someday I hope to go home.
We left Sydney in September, 1962, and I will never forget the lights along the coastline as the 707 climbed for altitude. It was if they were saying, "Don't forget us. We won't forget you."
