Krohn Conservatory Christmas Show

The Krohn Conservatory Christmas Display is a Cincinnati tradition and visitors come from all over to see it. Don't under-estimate its popularity. Your patience will almost certainly be tested while you try to find a place to park but the wait is well worth it. Consider visiting on a week day as the week-ends are usually more crowded.

The Christmas Display starts around November 20 and continues through January 2 with hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day).

Public Service Message: Poinsettia is pronounced poin-sett-EE-uh.

Pink Poinsettias

Here are some of the countless poinsettias featured in the show. The sheer number of them makes for a stunning spectacle and the way they are arranged is ingenious.

The Floral House is where most of the display is built.

Poinsettia Tree

Creating a Poinsettia Tree is some of the Christmas magic of the Conservatory.

Train Bridge

Little trains work their way across bridges, through the flowers, and around the little cottages. This is the kind of thing children remember for the rest of their lives.

The Cottage

A little cottage surrounded by a forest of cyclamen.

A waterfall flows down the hill in the background and a train comes by every so often with everything to a charming scale.

The Corral

The Conservatory staff has built a corral specially for this event and quiet comes over the animals as night falls.

The exuberance of the poinsettias and the display inside the Conservatory gives way to thoughtfulness and reflection as people move to the Nativity scene. It's usually fairly cold but it makes the warmth of the scene all the more captivating.

The Nativity

The music of Christmas plays softly in the distance and people drift slowly by.

The animals in the Corral are real so it's very much a living experience.
