Butterfly Shows

Krohn Conservatory

Cincinnati, Ohio

The air is full of butterflies...and the shrieks of the children. Ordinarily, shrieking children are somewhere beyond annoying but here they simply add to a gentle chaos of color and sound.

At first the children are terrified but they soon discover that the butterflies mean them no harm. The little fellow at the right was charmed to discover that a butterfly would alight upon his finger and couldn't wait to show anyone with a camera how it was done!

This is the Butterfly Show at Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati. The chrysalids for an enormous number of butterflies are allowed to hatch inside the Conservatory and then live out their brief lives there.

You might want to check out the Cincinnati Parks Butterfly Show site for schedules and additional information.
