Riverboats from up and down the Ohio River come to Cincinnati and the feeling is at times very much like it might have been back in the riverboat days when such gatherings were routine. It's an extraordinary celebration and well worth your time to visit.
The Riverfront Landing in Cincinnati is where the riverboats would dock and there was tremendous activity down there. Tall Stacks brings up to twenty riverboats to the Riverfront Landing and the feeling of time travel is extraordinary. It's as if at any moment you could meet Mark Twain wending through the crowd.
Tall Stacks is a public event and costs nothing to attend. There are also premium attractions as you can take an evening cruise on a riverboat and cruising on the Delta Queen out of Cincinnati is a popular vacation attraction to this day.
Cincinnati is very much a river city and few things bring that so much to life as Tall Stacks.
