Aruba is one of my favorite places to visit and it's very much because of the charm of the people there. I've been to other Caribbean islands but they're not quite the same. It's no exaggeration that Aruba really is one happy island.
Let's Go Latin, Aruba
This is a spectacular show that is very exciting to watch. Sit near the stage and you may well find yourself participating in the show!
The dancers are young Cubans with an exceptional talent and you would think this show would wear them out but it's quite likely that you will see at least a few of them after the show in dance clubs in Oranjestaad.
Let's Go Latin, Aruba
This is another shot from the "Let's Go Latin" show.
We saw the show twice; it's that much fun. There's also a feature in the show in which young men do a gymnastic act and you wouldn't expect such a thing to be all that exciting but they're really good at it and you'll enjoy that as well.
Baby Beach, Aruba
There is ordinarily very little surf here and children are safe to swim almost anywhere but the waves were much higher than normal on this day.
The picture shows the opening in a natural breakwater that encloses Baby Beach. The beach is actually more like a salt lake and it's very shallow. It's definitely safe for children. It's also a great place for snorkeling if you go out past the breakwater.
Daisy at Baby Beach, Aruba
This is Daisy at Baby Beach. It looks kind of barren but there's a little stand that sells hot dogs and hamburgers, etc. Showers are also available and you'll appreciate that as the drive back to Oranjestaad is about 15-20 minutes and you'll probably want to wash off the salt and sand before leaving.
Boat Near Arashi Beach, Aruba
A sailboat at sunset. It tours the island with snorkelers.
We never tried one but these boats offer tours in which they sail from one snorkeling area to another. They probably do more drinking than snorkeling but celebrate your vacation any way you like!
Sunset, Aruba
Sunset over the ocean. All of the sunsets are as pretty as this one. It is a glorious place to be. I've been there three times and I've never seen it rain.
You can see some divi divi trees in silhouette. They take on fantastic shapes due to the constant breeze blowing in from the ocean and you'll see them everywhere.
